Welcome to History and News Latest NewsI am trying to document everything I can find on my Family History. Transcribing 21 letters from Frances Green, in Kingsthorpe, to her brother in America written between 1830 and 1860 is now complete and John Mutton's will helps to explain characters in the letters. Originals of the letters can be seen at Letters from Frances Green to her brother Abraham Walter in Indiana , Please let me know if you can improve on my transcripts. If you should want to join me in the quest to find the story of my ancestors please contact me with details, of how you fit into my Family Tree, and I will give you access to do this. Anyone else can freely view most material on people who are no longer living and contribute to the more general stories. Bloodhound Finds Sheep ThiefNorthampton Mercury - 13 January 1844

West Orchard Farm, Preston CapesMy grandfather, John Green, rented this farm from the Knightleys of Fawsley from January 1902 to end of June 1919. The land was in both Fawsley and Preston Capes parishes and I have not yet ascertained exactly where the land was. Between July 1900 and January 1902 he lived at Fawsley Wood Yard and rented land entirely in Fawsley Parish. Glebe Farm FarthingstoneGlebe Farm, Farthingstone was purchased by the Agnew family in January 1920 from the Church Commissioners. John Green my Grandfather, as a tenant of the Agnews, farmed here from about 1920 to 1936. The Blue Line on the Map outlines the land of the farm and the blue rectangle is where the farm house and farmyard were in 1920. The total land area was 196 acres. The Will of John Mutton of Market Harborough who Died in 1808This will helps explain who Aunts Bradshaw, Mawby and Cooke are in the letters written by Frances Green to her brother Abraham Walter in America. It is interesting in that it doesn't mention any sons of John. Details of John can be found in my family tree.
