My darling Rob & Phyll

Very many thanks for the photos – they are nice. I think you are fatter & have still the lovely smile. I really must get Dad & have his taken with me & send you. I am very proud of yours & at once put it in a frame on the dining room mantle piece. So I look at you many times during the day. Well, you see where we are – not at the farm yet but about 2 miles away – we were offered this house for 3 months & moved down the week before Xmas. We take over the farm in March – but Dad hopes to be able to get some work done on the land before then – all our farm implements & tractors came here by rail & Ken drove our van down with the geese in – so we killed one for Xmas dinner.I hated saying Good-bye to all & shall miss all the old friends. Dad & I stayed with Mrs Booth at the ‘Dolphin’ the night we left the Wds: then met Yvonne next morn: & we came down by train. This is quite a nice house – right in the village & we already know several people – every one seems very nice & sociable. Bubble thinks of leaving the Hospital next month & come here until Jim is demobbed. I think I had better send this to Phyll’s address in case you are not at El Barrial. I wonder if you have had your birthday letter – am sorry it was late – we thought of you – me dear on the 26th & wished you all the best. Dad & I went to Bradfield for a week-end before we came away – had a nice time with the Wilsons – young Ted is very stout &
