Will of Stephen Pearce of Compton Chamberlain 1726

 This Will should be read in conjunction with the Will of Sarah Pearce of Little Bedwyn 1754, the widow of Stephen.

 In the Name of God Amen

I Stephen Pearce the Elder of Compton Chamberlain
in the County of Wilts Yeoman being well in health and of
sound and perfect mind memory and understanding God be praised for the same Do
make and constitute this my Last Will and Testament in
manner following that is to say First and principally
I commend my soul into the hands of Almighty God
my Creator and Redeeemer hoping through the merits
Death and Passion of my Saviour Jesus Christ I shall
obtain full and free pardon of all my Sins and with
the Saints in Heaven enjoy Everlasting Life and my
body I commit to the Earth to be decently buried at
the discretion of my Executrix hereafter named And as
for my Worldly and temporal Estate I do give and dispose
as followith First I will that my debts and Funeral
charges be paid and discharged Item I give unto all
and every of my children living at my decease One shilling
a piece All the rest residue and remainder of all my
Goods Chattles and Credits whatsoever of what nature or kind soever
they be of or in what place soever they are I do give
and bequeath unto my Loving Wife Sarah Pearce whom I
do make and appoint to be full whole and sole Executrix of
this my Last Will and Testament hereby making void all
former Will or Wills by me formerly made And this to be taken
for my Last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I
the said Stephen Pearce have to this my Last Will and
Testament set my hand and seal this 16th day of

signed sealed published and declared by the abovesaid
Stephen Pearce to be his Last Will and Testament in the presence
of Mathew Lawrence /-/Wm Day /-/ John Day/
 
On the thirteenth day of January in the year of our
Lord One thousand seven hundred and seventy five Administration
with the Will annexed of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of
Stephen Pearce late of the parish of Little Bedwin in
the County of Wilts deceased was granted to Daniel Pearce
the Son and sole Executor of
the Will of Sarah Pearce Widow deceased whilst
Living the Relict sole Executrix and Residuary Legatee
named in the said Will of the said deceased 1st having
been first sworn by commission duly to administer the
said Sarah Pearce Widow dying without having taken
upon her the Execution of the said Will at Least in
