Thomas Spackman of Wroughton - his Will

 Thomas made his will on 23 October 1847 and died the next day. His full details can be seen here.

 This is the last Will and Testament

of me Thomas Spackman of Costow Farm in the parish of Wroughton in
the County of Wilts Farmer made this twenty third day of October one thousand
eight hundred and forty seven I give and bequeath to my Brother John Spackman
of High Penn in the Parish of Calne in the said County of Wilts and my
Brother in Law Henry Maundrell of Quabbs Farm in the said Parish of Calne
the sum of one thousand and one hundred pounds sterling and also my twenty
shares in the North Wilts Banking Company Upon the trusts following that is
to say Upon trust as soon as can be after my decease to invest the said sum of
one thousand one hundred pounds on government or real security and also
either to stand possessed of the said twenty shares in the North Wilts Banking
Company or if they shall at any time consider it to be more advantageous so to do
then to sell the said shares and invest the money arising from such sale on govern
ment or real security and from time to time to receive the interest and dividends
arising from all the money invested by them and also the dividends arising from
the said Bank shares until they shall be sold and the proceeds thereof invested
and to pay the said dividends and interest into the hands of my dear wife Amelia
Spackman [] towards the maintenance education and support of my []
children until they shall respectively attain the age of twenty one years unless
it should happen that my said wife should depart this life before the youngest
of my children shall attain that age in which case I request the said John
Spackman and Henry Maundrell or the survivor of them or the executors
administrators of such survivor to become Guardians of my children during?
their respective minority And when and as my said children shall respectively
attain the age of twenty one years I direct the said John Spackman and
Henry Maundrell or the survivor of them or the executors or administrators
of such survivor to pay to each of my said children the legacy hereinafter mentioned
or as near thereto as circumstances will admit through a sale of []
or otherwise raising money at the time the same may be required that is to
say to my daughter Ellen Spackman the sum of three hundred pounds to my
daughter Amelia Spackman the sum of two hundred pounds and my twenty
shares in the North Wilts Banking Company if so employed or if the same
shall have been sold then the amount of the proceeds of such sale or the security
on which such proceeds have been invested and to my daughter Catherine
Maundrell Spackman the sum of three hundred pounds In [] []
case of the decease of any or either of my said children before arriving at the 
said age of twenty one years the share or shares of him or her or them so dying
shall go to the survivors or survivor of them on arriving at the said age of
 
twenty one years All the Rest Residue and Remainder of my
estate and effects whatsoever and wheresoever subject to the payment of my
just debts funeral and testamentary expenses and the aforesaid Legacies I
give and bequeath to my said Wife Amelia Spackman to and for her own
absolute use benefit and disposal And it is my express will that my said Trustees
and the survivor of them and the executors and administrators of such 
survivor shall not be answerable or accountable for the other of them but
each for his own arts and deeds separately nor shall either of them be accountable
for more money than shall actually come into his hands by virtue of
this my Will nor for any misapplication or nonapplication therof so that
the same do not arise through the wilful neglect or default of either of them
respectively nor for any loss which may arise from the fluctuation in price
of the said Banking Shares or of any stocks or securities on which money
may be investedby them nor from placing money in the hands of any common?
Banker or Bankers And I direct that my said Trustees and the survivor
of them and the executors or administrators of such survivor do and
shall indemnify themselves respectively out of the said trust monies all
costs charges damages and expenses which they or either of them may sustain
in the execution of the Trusts hereby in them reposed And I do hereby
nominate constitute and appoint the said wife Amelia Spackman sole
Executrix of this my Will And revoking all former and other Wills by me
at any time heretofore made I do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament
In witness whereof I have to this my last Will and Testament contained
in three sheets of paper set my hand to each sheet thereof the day and year

Thomas Spackman the Testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the
presence of us present at the same time who in his presence and in the presence
of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses this twenty third

Proved at London 8th December 1847 before the Judge by the Oath of Amelia Spackman Widow the Relict the sole Executrix to whom Admon was granted having been first sworn by Courts only to administer
