Arthur Curtin of Johannesburg - His Will Made in 1947

 Last Will and Testament

of me, the undersigned, ARTHUR CURTIN, of Johannesburg in the
Transvaal Province, being of a sound and disposing mind, memory
and understanding and capable of doing any act requiring thought
and reflection.
I DO HEREBY revoke and annul all Wills, Codicils and other
testamentary Acts heretofore made and passed by me, desiring
that the same shall be of no force or effect whatsoever.
I HEREBY CONFIRM that I am aware that in view of the fact
that I am married in community of property to my wife,
JANET CURTIN (born HADDEN), the joint Estate of my said wife
and myself will be divided at the death of the first dying of
us, and I am further aware that the dispositions made by me
herein, will relate solely to the undivided half share of the
joint Estate to which I and my heirs are and will be entitled.
I HEREBY NOMINATE, constitute and appoint my elder son,
ALFRED GEORGE CURTIN, presently employed as an electrician by
the Municipal Electicity Department, Bulawayo, Southern
Rhodesia, to be the  sole and universal heir of the Estate and
effects which shall be left by me at my death whether movable 
or immovable and of what nature and kind soever and wheresoever 
situate, and whether the same be in possession, reversion, 
remainder or expectancy nothing excepted.
I DO HEREBY nominate and appoint STEPHEN JOHN PITTS
solicitor of Johannesburg, to be the Executor of this my Will
 
and Administrator of my Estate and effects, with all such
powers and authorities as are required or allowed in Law,
especially that of assumption.
I SPECIALLY DIRECT that my said Executor and Administrator
shall not have to furnish the Master of the Supreme Court of
South Africa or any responsible person with security force
the due administration of my Estate.
SIGNED AND ACKNOWLEDGED by the Testator at Johannesburg
in the Transvaal Province, on this the 26th day of June
in the year One Thousand, Nine Hundred and Forty Seven (1947)
 
in the presence of the undersigned witnesses, who, both being
present at the same time did see the Testator sign the same
and have also subscribed hereto as witnesses in the presence
of the Testator and in the presence of each other, all being
present at the same time.
