William Bracher of Tisbury - his Will - 15 June 1703

William was my 8 x Great Grandfather.
In the Name of God Amen
I William Bracher of Tisbury in the County of Wilts the
elder yeoman being in good health and also of sound and
perfect minde memory and understanding (thanks be to God for
it) doo make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in
manner and forme following Imprimis I give to my son John
All that my Tenement and Lands with the appurtenances in
Founthill Gifford in the said County To Hold to him and the heirs
of his body lawfully to be begotten with full power to settle the
same in Joynture to a Wife And in default of such issue the
remainder to my Son William for Term of his Life and after his
decease to the Heirs of his body lawfully begotten or to be so
begotten And in default of such issue the remainder to my Son
Edward and his Heirs for ever but if my Son John shall happen
to dye without Issue and my Son William thereupon shall come
to be seized of the said premises haveing one or more Heirs
of his body then liveing that then my said Son William shall pay
to my said Son Edward one hundred pounds of lawfull money
of England at the end of one whole year next after the decease
of my said Son John and his the said Williams being seized
thereof if any issue of the body of the said William shall be
then liveing Item I give to my said Son John the sume of
Three Hundred Pounds of like lawfull money to be paid him
without Interest at his age of one and twenty years Item
I give to my said Son John my Leasehold Tenement and Lands

with the appurtenances in Hindon To Hold him his Executors
and Assiignes during all the remainder of the Term Granted by
the Lease thereof Item I give to my Daughter Ann Three
Hundred pounds to be putt out at Interest by my Executors
and Overseers hereafter named for her use untill she shall
attaine the age of one and twenty years or be marryed which
shall first happen and in the meane time the Interest thereof to
be applyed by my Executors and Overseers by the direction
of my wife for the maintenance and Education of my said
Daughter Item I give to my said Daughter Twenty pounds
more to buy her Goods to be paid her with the said Three
Hundred pounds Item I give to my loveing Wife Ann the Bed
whereon we lye with the Bedsted and all the Furniture
thereunto belonging with the Chest standing in the same chamber
and all the Linnen therein and Two Trunks one Box two Silver
Spoons one Silver Tumbler and fifty pounds in money and my Will
is that said Wife Shall have the use of my Silver Tankard
and of one Moiety of all other my Household Goods dureing
her Life and that she shall receive the profitts of my Lease
hold Estate at Wall Mead dureing her widdowhood Item I give
my Son William Five shillings and noe more for that I have
already given and secured his portion to him Item I give to
the poor of the parish of Tisbury Five pounds to be paid within
one month after my decease to be Distributed amongst
them by my Trustees Item all the rest of my Cattle Corn Stock
in Husbandry monies due on Securities or otherwise aith all
Securities for the same and all other my Goods and Chattels
whatsoever my Debts and Funeral Expences being paid and
defrayed I give to my Son Edward and doe make and constitute
him whole and Sole Executor of this my last Will and Testament
And I desire my son William and my brother in Law Thomas
Burrough to be Overseers of this my Will to see the same
duely performed and for their Trouble I give them Five Shillings
each to buy them Gloves In Witness whereof I have hereunto
set my hand and Seale and have published and declaired
this to be my last Will and Testament the Fifteenth Day of
June in the year of our Lord one thousand Seven hundred and
Three Will Bracher Signed Sealed published and declared by
the said William Bracher to be his last Will and Testament in
presence of John Green Hannah Marchant her mark Thos
