Catharine Crook of Tytherton Lucas - her Will - 6 Jan 1788

Catharine was my 6xG aunt. Another useful will giving names of other family members.

In the Name of God Amen I Catharine Crook of Tytherton Lucas and Parish of Chippenham in the County of Wilts being of a perfect sound and disposing mind memory and understanding thanks be to God for the same therefore caling unto my mind the uncertainty of this transitory life Well knowing it is appointed for all flesh once to die do make and ordain publish and declare this my last will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say First and Principally I commit my Soul into the hands of Almighty God in whom and by whose mercy I trust in and assuredly believe to be saved and my Body I commit to the earth to be decently buried in Christian Burial by and at the discretion of my Executrix hereinafter named and for the disposal of such Worldly Estates and Effects which it hath pleased God to bless me with in this life I do give devise bequeath and dispose of the same as followeth that is to say First I give and bequeath unto my Sister Elizabeth Crook all that my part in the Freeland? and the [] Issues? and profits thereof in the Parish of Trowbridge in the County of Wilts during her life and after the decease of my Sister Elizabeth Crook I give and bequeath the same unto my Brother Simon Crook during his life and after the decease of my Brother Simon Crook I give and bequeath the same unto my Nephew Charles Crook Son of my Brother Simon Crook Item I give and bequeath unto my Niece Elizabeth Wife of John Edwards the Sum of Fifty Pounds of good and lawful Money of Great Britain within the space of one whole Year after the decease of my Sister Elizabeth Crook Item I give and bequeath unto my Niece Elizabeth Wife of John Eddols and Mary Crook and Catharine Crook Daughters of my late Brother Robert Crook the Sum of twenty Pounds each of like lawful Money within the space of one whole year after the decease of my Sister Elizabeth Crook Item all the Rest Residue and Remainder of my Effects whatsoever I do give devise bequeath and dispose of the same as followeth First I give and bequeath unto my Brother Edward Crook the one half after the decease of my Sister Elizabeth Crook but if it should so happen that my Brother Edward Crook should die before my Sister Elizabeth Crook then his part shall be equally divided amongst my Brother Edward Crooks children share and share alike after the decease of my Sister Elizabeth Crook Item my other half I do give and bequeath unto William Crook Anthony Crook Edward Crook John Crook Elizabeth Eddolls [] Crook and Catharine Crook Sons and Daughters of my late Brother Robert Crook to be equally divided between them share and share alike within the space of one Year after the decease of my Sister Elizabeth Crook Lastly I do hereby make and ordain constitute and appoint my Sister Elizabeth Crook to be full and sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament and I do hereby revoke and disannul and make void all and all and every of other Will or Wills Testament or Testaments before by me made and do Publish and Declare this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I the said Catharine Crook have to this my last Will and Testament set my Hand and Seal this sixth day of January in the Year of our Lord one Thousand seven hundred and eighty eight Catharine Crook Signed Sealed Pronounced? Published and declared by the said Catharine Crook the Testator to be her last will and Testament in the presence of us Daniel Smith Sarah Smith Lucy Smith This Will was proved at London on the sixteenth day of October in the Year of our Lord one Thousand eight hundred before the Right Honourable Sir William Wynne Knight Doctor of Laws Master Keeper or Commissary of the Prerogative Court of Canterbury lawfully constituted by the Oath of Elizabeth Crook Spinster the Sister of the deceased and sole Executrix named in the said Will to whom Admin was granted of all and singular the Goods Chattels and Credits of the said deceased having been first sworn by Commision duly to Administer
