William Seager the Elder of Highway - his Will - 19 Feb 1780

 In the Name of God Amen I William Seager the Elder of Highway

in the County of Wilts Yeoman being in an ill State but of sound and perfect Mind, Memory and Understanding
for which I bless God do this the nineteenth Day of February in the Year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and eighty
make and publish this my last Will and Testrament as follows First and principally I resign my Soul into the Hands
of Almighty God for Forgiveness of my Sins and my Body I committ to the Earth to be decently buried at the
Discretion of my Executors herein after named And as to my Worldly Estate I give devise and dispose of the same as follows (that is
to say) I give and bequeath to my Grandson William Howell (Son of Robert Howell and Elizabeth his Wife) the Sum of Forty
Pounds of lawful Money of Great Britain to be paid to him at his Age of one and twenty Years Item I give and bequeath to my
Daughter Mary Howell ( Wife of William Howell) the Sum of Five Pounds of the like lawful Money Item I give and bequeath
unto my Sons William Seager and John Seager the Sum of One Hundred Pounds of like Money Upon this special Trust
and Confidence in them reposed that my said Trustees and the Survivor of them his Executors or Administrators do and shall pay
and apply the Interest thereof and such Part of the Principal from time to time as they in their Discretion shall think fit and
see necessary unto my said Daughter Elizabeth Howell (Wife of Robert Howell) to and for her own sole Use and Benefit
seperate and apart from her present or any future Husband and not to be subject to any the Debts Controul or Incumberances of her
said present or any future Husband but her  Receipts alone whether sole or Covert to be from time to time good and sufficient
Discharge for the same And in Case it shall happen that the whole of the said Sum of One hundred Pounds shall not be expended
and paid to my said Daughter in her lifetime Then upon Trust that they my said Trustees or the Survivor of them
his Executors or Administrators do and shall pay apply and dispose of the Residue thereof as shall be remaining in their or any
or either of their Hands at the time of the Decease of my said Daughter unto such of her Children as shall happen to be then
living to be equally divided between them Share and Share alike (my said Grandson William Howell excepted who is otherwise
before provided for by this my Will) And all the rest Residue and remainder of my Estate both real and personal Goods Chattles
and Effects whatsoever wheresoever and of what Nature kind or Quality soever after payment of my Funeral Expenses Debts
and Legacies I give devise and bequeath the same and every part and parcel thereof to my  Sons William Seager and John
Seager To Hold to them their Heirs Exxecutors Administrators and Assigns for ever as Tenants in common and not as joint
Tenants And I do hereby nominate and appoint my said Sons William Seager and John Seager Executors jointly of this my
Will and revoking all other Wills by me at any Time heretofore made do declare this only to be my last Will and Testament
In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my Hand and Seal the Day and year first above written.

declared as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who have
hereunto subscribed our Names as Witnesses in his Presence and in the presence
of each other.
