Clare Flower of Compton Bassett - his Will - 17 Jul 1831

 This is the last Will and Testament of me Clare Flower of Compton Bassett in

the County of Wilts Farmer made this Seventeenth Day of July in the Year of our Lord
One thousand Eight hundred and Thirty one First I give and bequeath unto my
Nephew John Rawlings of Compton Bassett aforesaid Malster the Sum of One Hundred
Pounds of lawful Money current in Great Britain to be paid to him by my Executors herein
after named within Twelve Months next after my decease Also I give and bequeath
unto my good Friend Mr Thomas Neate of the Parish of Compton Bassett aforesaid Farmer
and Mr Henry Harris of Calne in the said County of Wilts Grocer the Sum of Fifty Pounds each
for the Care and Trouble they may have in accepting the TRusts contained in this my Will
Also I give and bequeath unto the said Thomas Neate and Henry Harris the Sum of Two
Thousand and Five Hundred Pounds Upon the several Trusts herein after mentioned
(that is to say) Upon Trust that they my said Trustees and Executors do and shall as
soon as conveniently may be after my decease place the same out at Interest on Government
or some other good and sufficient Security or Securities in their own Names and in such manner
as they may find proper, And do and shall receive the Interest and Dividends of the said
Sum of Two Thousand and Five Hundred Pounds from time to time as the same shall become due
and payable, and pay the same Interest and Dividends unto and equally amongst my Brothers
and Sisters Edmund Flower, John Flower, William Flower, Jane the Wife of Richard Pope and
Elizabeth the Wife of William Spackman, for and during the Terms of theirnartural Live And
from and after the decease of any or either of my said Brothers and Sisters Then upon Trust to
pay and apply the Share or Shares of the Interest and Dividends of any or either of them so dying
unto and for the benefit of all and every the Child and Children of each of my said Brothers
and Sisters who shall happen to die, until they shall respectively attain the Age or Ages of
Twenty One Years And when and as soon as they shall severally attain that Age Then upon
Trust that they my said Trustees do and shall pay assign and transfer the Share or Shares of the
Principal Money of such of my said Brothers and Sisters who shall happen to die, unto and
amongst his her or their Children ahen and as they shall severally and respectively attain
the said Age or Ages of Twenty One Years but such Child or Children to take the Share or Shares
of his her or their respective Parents only All the Rest Residue and Remainder of any Money
and Securities for Money Plate Linen China Household Goods and Furniture and also all my
Farming Stock Estate and Effects of what nature or kind soever and wheresoever situate
and being (after payment of all my just Debts the aforesaid several Legacies my Funeral
Expenses and the Costs of proving this my Will for the payment of all which I do hereby
charge and make chargeable all my estate and effects, I give and bequeath the same
and every Part thereof unto my Nephew William Flower now living with me and
superintending my Businiss to and for his own absolute benefit and disposal And I do
hereby nominate constitute and appoint the said Thomas Neate and Henry Harris
joint Executors in Trust of this my Will And I do hereby declare it to be my Will and
I do hereby direct that my said Trstees and Executors or either of them their or either of their
 
Executors or Administrators shall no be responsible or accountable for or chargeable
with more of the said Trust Monies than he or they shall actually receive or shall come to
their respective hands by virtue of this my Will or the Trusts thereof nor with of for any loss
or reduction which shall or may happen of the same or any part thereof, so as such Loss
happen without their or either of their wilful neglect or default, nor the one of them my
said Trustees and Executors for the other of them but each for himself only And also that
it shall and may be lawful for my said Trustees and Executors and each of them upon
all times and occasions whatsoever by and out of my said Estate and Effects or the Monies
arising therefrom to deduct and reimburse himself and themselves respectively all such
Costs Charges and Expenses as they or either of them shall sustain expend or be put out
in or about the execution of this my Will or the Trusts thereof And Lastly I do hereby
revoke all former and other Wills by me at any time heretofore made and do declare
this only to be my last Will and Testament In Witness whereof I have to this my
last Will and Testament contained in two Sheets of Paper set my hand to the first Sheet
thereof and my Hand and Seal to this second and last Sheet thereof the Day and Year
first before written.

Commission unto you, (in whom we perfectly confide,) jointly and
severally to administer the Oath under written, in manner and
form there set forth, to Thomas Neateand Henry
Harris the joint Executors named in the last
Will and Testament of Clare Flower late of
Compton Bassett in the County of Wilts and
our said Archdeaconry yeoman...
the first day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand 
eight hundred and thirty one.
