In the Name of God Amen the fifteenth day of December in the Eighth year
of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Third by the Grace of God of Great Britain France and Ireland
King Defender of the Faith and so forth and in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and Sixty seven
I Thomas Matthews of Calne in the County of Wilts Collarmaker being weak in Body but of sound and
disposing Mind Memory and Understanding do make and ordain my last Will and Testament in manner and form
following (that is to say) First and principally I commend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God hopeing for
Forgiveness of my Sins and my Body I committ to the Earth to be decently buryed at the Discretion of my Executors herein
after named and as for my worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me I give devise and dispose
thereof as follows First I give and bequeath unto my Son John Mattrhews my Silver Tankard Also I give and bequeath
unto my said Son John Matthews and to my Daughters Mary Matthews Anne Matthews Sarah Matthews and Betsey
Matthews the Sume of Three Hundred Pounds a piece of lawfull Money of Great Britain to be paid to them by my Executors
hereinafter named at their respective Ages of one and Twenty years and in the meane Time to be placed out at Interest and
applyed for their Support Maintenance Education and Advancement in the World Also I give and bequeath unto
my dear and loving Wife Susannah Matthews the Sume of two Hundred Pounds of like lawfull Money to be paid to her by my
said Executors herein after named within one year next after my Decease All the rest residue and remainder of my Goods
Chattells and personal Estate whatsoever and wheresoever after my just Debts Legacys and funeral Expenses are paid and
satisfyed I give and bequeath unto my said five Children John Matthews Mary Matthews Anne Matthews Sarah Matthews
and Betsey Matthews equally between them share and share alike at their said several and respective Ages of one and twenty years
Nevertheless my Will and meaning is that my said Wife shall have the Use of my Household Goods Furniture and Utensills of Household
during her Widowhood only for the ??eeding up providing for and [] of my said Children And if any or either of
my said five Children shall happen to dye under the age of one and Twenty years Then my Will is that all and every the Legacy or
