Kinsman Jaques of Langley Burrell - his Will - 13 Nov 1761

In the name of God Amen I Kinsman Jaques of Langley Burrell in the County of Wilts Gent
being weak in Body but of Sound and disposing mind memory and understanding thanks be to Almighty God
for the same do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say
First I commend my Soul into the Hands of Almighty God hoping thro the merits and mediation of my
Beloved Saviour and redeemer Jesus Christ to have full pardon of all my sins and my Body I commit to the
Earth to be decently Buried at the discretion of my Executor and Executrix herein after named and as touching
such worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased God to bless me in this life I give and dispose thereof as
Follows (that is to say) Whereas my Son in Law Edward Baker Eddolls of West Yatton in the Parish of
Yatton Keynell in the said County Gentleman stands Indebted to me on his Promisory Note dated 4th day
of February one thousand seven hundred and fifty eight in the Sum of One hundred Pounds Now I do hereby
give devise and bqueath unto the said Edward Baker Eddolls the Sum of Thirty pounds being part of
the said Sum of One hundred pounds And I do hereby Order and direct my Executor and Executrix herein
after named on Payment to them of the Sum of Seventy pounds being the residue of the said note to deliver
up and [] the same Also I give devise and bequeath unto my Son Francis Jaques of The City of
Bristole Baker and to my Daughter Ann Jaques of Langley Burrell aforesaid Spinster the said Sum of Seventy
pounds being the remainder of the said Sum of One hundred pounds so due on the said Note
to be equally divided between them share and Share alike Also I give devise and bequeath unto the
said Francis Jaques All that my Messuage or Dwelling House Situate in the Town of Chippenham in the
said County called or known by the name or Sign of the Lamb and Unicorn now in the Occupation of
Catharine Hibberd To hold the same and every part thereof unto the said Francis Jaques and his Assigns
for and during all my Term Estate and Interest therein Also I Give devise and bequeath unto the said
Francis Jaques one Feather Bed and Flock Bed together with the Bedsteads and all the Furniture and
Appurtenances thereunto belonging Also I give devise and bequeath unto the said Francis Jaques my
Clock and Case One Silver Tankard and four Silver Spoons Also I give devise and bequeath unto my said
Daughter Ann Jaques the Sum of Forty Shillings yearly for the Term of Five years to commence
immediately after my decease to be paid to her by my said Son Francis Jaques out of the said Messuage
or Tenement herein before to him given and I do hereby Charge and make Chargeable the said messuage
and premises with the payment thereof But in Case the said Francis Jaques shall at any Time
during the said Term of Five years neglect or refuse to pay the same the same being lawfully demanded
it shall and may be lawfull and my Will and meaning is that the said Ann Jaques shall enter upon the
said Premises and Distrain for the same and All the arrears thereof Alsi I give devise and bequeath
unto the said Ann Jaques One Feather Bed and Bedstead One Flock Bed and Bedstead with theor Appurts
One Chest of Drawers One Corner Cupboard one Silver Tankard three Silver Spoons and one Silver

Pepper Box Also all the rest residue and remainder of my Goods Chattells Ready Moneys and Securitys
for Moneys And all other my real and Personall Estate whatsoever and wheresoever not herein before
disposed of after Payment and Satisfaction of all my just debts and Funeral Expenses I give and
devise the same and every part thhereof unto the said Francis Jaques and Anne Jaques to be equally
divided between them Share and Share alike and I do hereby nominate constitute and appoint the
said Francis Jaques and Anne Jaques Joynt Executor and Executrix of this my Will hereby revoking all
former and other wills by me at any time hereto fore made In witness whereof the said Kinsman
Jaques the Testator have hereunto set my Hand and Seal this thirtieth day of November in the year
of our Lord One Thousand Seven hundred and Sixty one.

Sheets of paper to the first Sheet Set his hand and to
the last his Hand and Seal in our presence and in
his presence and in the presence of each other of us
