Martha Slade of Aston Upthorpe - her Will - 1735

Martha was my 6x Great Grandmother. More on her life can be seen here. She was the widow of John Slade, will dated 1716.

In The Name of God Amen I Martha Slade of Aston Upthorpe
in Berkshire widow being Aged and weak but of good understanding
(thanks be to god) Considering the uncertainty of this Life do make
this my last will and Testament in writing in Manner Following First I 
Commend my Soul to god hoping to receive pardon for all my sins
through the alone merits of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer
and my body I Commit to the Earth to be decently buried at the discretion
of my Executor herein after named And as for such Goods and
worldly Estate which the Lord of his mercy hath lent me I give and
dispose of that as herein after followeth
Imprimis all my wearing Apparel and my household good in my
house wherein I now live which shall be there at the time of my
decease I give and bequeath it all unto my Two Daughters
Martha Porter and Mary Cotterill to be equally divided between
them Share and Share alike Item I give and bequeath unto my
Grand daughter Martha Slade the Sum of Ten pounds of good and
Lawful money of Great Britain to be paid unto her at her age of
one and Twenty years Item I give and bequeath unto my Grand daughter
Margaret Porter the Sum of Ten pounds of Like money to be paid unto
her at her age of one and Twenty years if she shall die under that
age then the same to be paid unto her Mother Martha Porter when she should
have attained that age if she had lived Item I give and bequeath unto
my now four Grand children the Children of my Daughter Mary Cotterill that is John Toby William & Mary the
Sum of Ten pounds a piece of Like money to be paid unto them respectively
when they shall attain to their several and respective ages of one and
Twenty Years if either or any of them shall die under that age the Legacy of
Such deceased my will is shall be divided Amongst the Survivors of
them when due Item all the rest residue and remainder of my goods
chattels and personal Estate I give and bequeath unto my son John
Slade whom I do make and appoint to be Sole Executor of this my
Last will and Testament by me made or declared In Witness
whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this Two and Twentieth day
of October in the year of our Lord God 1735  Martha Slade
Signed Sealed published and declared by the
said Martha Slade the Testatrix to be her last
will and Testament in the presence of us who 
Subscribed our Names as witnesses In her
