John Seager of Hilmarton - his Will - 1718

 In the Name of God Amen the Nynth day of January in the Fifth Yeare of the

Reigne of our Sovereigne Lord George by the Grace of God King over Great Britaine or Anno Dom 1718 I john Seager of Corton Farme in
the parish of Hilmarton in the County of Wilts Yeoman being in Good Health and of sound and disposing Mind and Memory Thanks be to Almighty God doo
make and Ordaine this my Last Will and Testament in manner and Forme Following (that is to say) First and principally I commend my Soul into the hands of
Almighty God my heavenly Father who Gave it mee And my Body to be Buried in Christian and [] manner by my Executor herein after named
And as for [] and [] such Worldly Estate wherewith it hath pleased Almighty God to Bless mee I Give Devise and Bequeath
the same in manner Following Impris I Give and Bequeath unto my Son William Seager and Son in law William Spackman All that
my Free hold Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances in Calne in te County of Wilts now in the possession of John Keate? to have and to hold
the sayd Messuage or Tenement with the Appurtenances unto my said Son William Seager and Son in Law William Spackman and the Survivor of them
his Heires and Assignes In Trust nevertheless for the use and Behoofe of my Grandson William Seager Eldest Son of my Son John Seager
[] his Heires and Assignes for ever Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Son William Seager and Son in Law William Spackman All
That my Leasehold Estate Situate in Highway in the sayd County of Wilts with all and Singlar the Appurtenances to have and to hold the
sayd Leasehold Estate with the Appurtenances unto my sayd Son William Seager and Son in Law William Spackman and the Survivor of them
his Executors and Adms immediately after my decease for and during all the Terme and Estate I shall have therein then to come and unexpired
In Trust nevertheless and to and for the use and behoofe of my Grandson John Seager another Son of my sayd Son John Seager his Executors and Administrators for
and during the Terme and Estate I have therein to come and unexpired Item I Give and Bequeath unto my sayd Son William Seager and Son in Law
William Spackman In Trust for my Grandson Robert Seager another Son of my sayd Son John Seager the Sume of fifty pounds of Lawfull money of Great
Brittaine to be payd to them or the Survivor of them his Executors or Assignes within the Space of one yeare next after my decease And my Will and
meaning is And I do hereby desire my sayd Son William Seager and Son in Law William Spackman or the Survivor of them his Exors or Administrators to
putt out the sayd sume of Fifty pounds at Interest to the best Advantage they or the Survivor of them can for the Benefitt of my said Grandson Robert
Seager untill he shall attaine to his Age of one and Twenty Yeares and then the Sayd Sume of Fifty pounds with the Increase thereof to be payd to him or his
Assignes if he the sayd Robert Seager shall be then Liveing Item I Give & Bequeath unto my Grandchildren Humphry Seager Sarah Seager June? Seager Mary Seager Son & Daughters of my sd Son John Seager the Sume of
Ten pounds a piece of Like Lawful money of Great Brittaine to be payd to them respectively at their respective Ages of one & Twenty Yeares But my Will & meaning is & I do hereby declare that in case any or either of them my Grand Children Robert
Seager Humphry Seager Sarah Seager Anny Seager or Mary Seager shall happen to dye before he she or they shall attaine to his her or their Severall and respective Age or Ages of one & Twenty Yeares that then in such case I Give
Bequeath the Legacy or Legacys of Fifty pounds & Ten pounds a piece of him her or them so dyeing to the Survivors or Survivor of them share and share alike Item I Give & Bequeath unto my Daughter in Law Sarah Neate One Shilling to
be payd to her in One Month next after my Decease Item I Give & Bequeath unto my sayd Son William Seager All That my Copyhold Messuage Situate in Compton Bassett in the sayd County of Wilts with all and Singular the
Appurtenances To have and to hold the sayd copyhold Estate with the Appurts for and during the Terme of his naturall Life according to the customs of the sd Manor Item I Give & Bequeath unto my Grand Son
William Seager Son of my sayd Son William Seager the Sum of Ten pounds of Lawfull money of Great Brittaine to be payd to him when & as Soone as he shall attaine to his Age of Twenty one Yeares Item I Give & Bequeath 
unto my Grand Children John Seager Elizabeth Seager Anne Seager & Rebecca Seager Son and Daughters of my sayd Son William Seager the Sume of Five pounds a peice of Lawfull money of Great Brittaine to be payd to them respectively
when and as Soon as they shall attaine their Severall & respective Ages of one and Twenty yeares But my Will & meaning is And I do hereby declare that in Case any or either of them my sd Grand Children Sons & Daughters 
of my sayd Son William Seager shall happen to dye before he she or they shall attaine to his her or their respective Age or Ages of one & Twenty Yeares that then & in such Case I Give and Bequeath the
Legacy or Legacys of him her or them soe dyeing to the Survivors or Survivor of them share and share alike Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Son Thomas Seager the Sume of Fifty pounds of Lawfull money of Great
Brittaine to be payd to him his Exors or Assignes within the space of One Yeare next after my decease Item I Give & Bequeath unto my sayd Son William Seager and Son in Law William Spackman All
that my Leasehold Estate Situate in Catcombe in the sayd County of Wilts with all and Singular the Appurts to have and to hold the sayd Leasehold Estate with the Appurtenances unto my sd
Son William Seager and Son in Law William Spackman and the Survivor of them his Executors and Assignes immediately after my decease for and during all the Terme & Estate I shall have therein then to
come & unexpired In Trust nevertheless That they my sd Son William Seager and Son in Law William Spackman & the Survivor of them his Exors and Adms shall & may from tyme to tyme & at all tymes
during the Term and Estate I have therein to come and unexpired Receive [] & take the rents Issues and Profitts of the sayd Leasehold Estate last mentioned & pay & apply the same from tyme to tyme to or
to the use of my Grand Children John Seager William Seager Thomas Seager Norman? Seager Humphrey Seager Anne Seager and Elizabeth Seager Sons and Daughters of my sd Son Thomas Seager
or the Survivors or Survivor of them share and share alike for and towards their better Education and Maintenance for tyme to come in such sort and manner as my sayd Son William Seager and Son in
Law William Spackman or the Survivor of them his Exors or Assignes shall think most proper and requisite Item I Give and Bequeath unto my sayd Son William Seager & Son in Law William
Spackman All that my Reversion of my Leasehold Estate at Witcombe in the sd County of Wilts with all and Singular the Appurtenances To Have and to Hold The sayd Reversion of the sd Leasehold at
Witcombe with the Appurtenances unto my sayd Son William Seager and Son in Law William Spackman & the Survivor of them his Executors & Adms for and during all the Terme and Estate I have
therein to come & unexpired In Trust nevertheless That they my sd Son William Seager and Son in Law William Spackman & the Survivor of them his Exors and Adms shall & may after? the sayd
Reversion shall fall into hand [] from tyme to tyme & at all times during the Terme and Estate I have therein to come and unexpired receive perceive? and take the rents Issues and Profits of the same 
and pay and apply the same from tyme to tyme to or to the use of my sayd Grand Children John Seager William Seager Thomas seager Harman? Seager & Humphry Seager or the Survivors or Survivor of them
share and share alike for and towards their better Education & Maintenance for tyme to come in such sort and manner as my sayd Son William Seager & Son in Law William Spackman or the Survivor of them
his Executors or Adms shall think most proper and requisite Item I Give and Bequeath unto my sayd Son William Seager & Son in Law William Spackman a Guinea a peice in Gold to be payd
to them respectively within one Month next after my decease Item I Give & Bequeath unto my Grandaughter Mary Spackman the Sume of One hundred pounds of Lawfull money of Great Brittaine to be
payd to her by my Executor hereinafter named when and as soon as she shall attaine to her Age of one and Twenty Yeares or be Marryed which shall first happen Item I Give and Bequeath unto
my Grand Children William Spackman Roger Spackman Anne Spackman Dorothy Spackman Elizabeth Spackman and Rebeccah Spackman the Sume of Five pounds a piece of Lawfull money of Great
Brittaine to be payd to them respectively when and as soon as they shall attaine to their respective Ages of one and Twenty Yeares But my Will and meaning is and I doo hereby declare
that in case any or either of my sayd Grand Children Mary Spackman William Spackman Roger Spackman Anne Spackman Dorothy Spackman Elizabeth Spackman and
Rebecca Spackman shall happen to dye before their respective Legacyes shall become due and payable That then and in such Case I Give and Bequeath the Legacyes
or Legacyes of him her or them so dyeing to the Survivors or Survivor of them share and share alike Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Daughter Elizabeth Crooke?? a Guinea in Gold to
be payd to her within one Month next after my decease Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Grandaughter Alice Crooke Daughter of the sayd Elizabeth Crooke the Sume of Five
pounds of Lawfull money of Great Brittaine to be payd to her when and as soon as she shall attaine to her Age of one and Twenty Yeares Item I Give and Bequeath unto
my Daughter  Mary Payne a Guinea in Gold to be payd to her within one Month next after my decease Item I Give & Bequeath unto the poore of the parish of Highway
Forty Shillings to be payd in a Month after my decease Item I Give and Bequeath unto the poore of the parish of Hilmarton Forty Shillings to be payd in a Month after my decease
Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Servant Maid Anne Whale Twenty Shillings Item I Give and Bequeath unto my Servant Mary? Edward Ten Shillings Item I Give and 
Bequeath unto my Servant men William and Benjamine Five Shillings a peice And I Doo hereby Nominate and appoint my Trusty and well beloved Friends [] Robert Tuck
of Freegrove in the parish of Lyneham in the said County of Wilts and Clement Burchall of Compton Bassett in the sayd County of Wilts Overseers to see that this my Last
Will is duely performed and fullfilled as neare as possible can be And for their Care and paines therein I Give them a Guinea a peice in Gold to be payd to them respectively
within one Month next after my decease All the rest and residue of my Goods and Chattles and personall Estate whatsoever of what kind or nature soever the same be I Give Devise
and Bequeath unto my Son Robert Seager whome I make whole and Sole Executor of this my Last Will and Testament And Lastly I doe hereby Revoke Frustrate and 
make void all Former and other Wills and Testaments by me at any tyme heretofore made and do declare this to be my Last Will and Testament In Witness
Whereof I have to this my Will and Testament Sett my Hand and Seale dated the day and Yeare First above Written
