William Seager of Hilmarton - his Will - 1738

William was my 7x Great Uncle. His relationship to my Mother can be seen here..

In the Name of God Amen I William Seager of Clevancy in the parish of Hillmarton in the County of Wilts Yeoman being of sound mind memory and understanding do make and ordain this my last Will and Testament in manner and form following (that is to say) First I direct that my Son in Law Christopher Pinniger my brother in Law Wm Neale and my beloved wife to be in Trust for my Executor herein after named First I give unto my daughter Sarah Seager two hundred pounds to be paid to her by my son John Seager two Months next after my decease out of that Leasehold Estate at Cleeve Pepper but also I give unto the sd Christopher Pinniger Wm Neale and Ann Seager all those my Vicontiel Rents which I lately bought of Sloker? of Calne In Trust never the less for my son Edward Seager when he shall attain his age of one and twenty years but in the mean time to apply the income interest and increase thereof towards his Maintenance and Education but in case he shall dye before he shall attain the age of one and twenty years then my Will and meaning is that the said Christopher Pinniger Wm Neale and Ann Seager and the Survivor of them and the Executors Admins and Assignes of such Survivor and shall dispose of the same and every part thereof unto my Son Wm Seager Sarah Seager my Son in Law Mathew Humphry and my son in Law James Hall equally between them share and share alike Also I give unto my son Edward Seager the Sum of Twenty Pounds to put him apprentice Also I give unto the said Christopher Penniger Wm Neale and Ann Seager the Sum of Eighty pounds In Trust that they and their Survivor of them do and shall pay the same unto my son Edward Seager when he shall attain his Age of One and twenty Years but in the mean times To apply and put the same out at Interest upon the best Security that can be got for the same and the interest and increase thereof to be applyde Towards his maintenance and Education but in Case my said Son Edward Seager shall happen to dye before he shall attain the Age of one and twenty years then I do hereby direct that the said Christopher Pinniger Wm Neale and Ann Seager or one of them do and shall pay the said Sum of Eighty Pounds unto my said Son Wm Seager Sarah Seager my Son in Law Mathew Humphry and my son in Law James Hall equally between them share and share alike Also I give unto all my Grandchildren now born half a Guinea a piece to be paid by my Executor Also I give unto my wife half the household Goods during so long time as she continues Sole and unmarried Also all the rest residue & rem of my goods Chattles and personal Estate whatsoever not herein before disposed of after my Debts Legacys and funerall Expenses are fully satisfied and paid I do hereby give the same and every part thereof unto my son Wm Seager and do make him sole executor of this my last Will and Testament Wm Seager Signed Sealed and delivered by the said Testator William Seager as and for his last will and Testament in the presence of us who have hereto subscribed our Names in his Sight and presence Robt Seager William Lewis Jacob Taylor At Chippenham the Eighteenth day of November 1738 the Executor above named was duly Sworn before me Jno Talman Sur
