Peter Cowdery of Nether Wallop - His Will - 1816

This is the last Will and Testament of me Peter Cowdery of Lower Wallop in the County of Southampton yeoman made this tenth day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and sixteen as follows that is to say I nominate and appoint my three Sons George William and Peter Executors & my daughter Fortune Executrix and the Survivors and Survivor of them of this my last Will and as for and regarding the Real & Personal Estate which I shall happen to be seized possessed or anyways entitled to I give devise and dispose of the same and every part thereof in manner following I give and bequeath unto my wife Fortune and her assigns for and during the term of her Widowhood one annuity or real? yearly sum of thirty pounds of lawful English money to be issuing out of and charged upon any part of my Estates as my Executors shall think proper and to be paid and payable to my said wife by four actual quarterly payments the first payment to commence and be made at the expiration of three months next after my decease such annuity to be in lieu bar and satisfaction of all dower and thirds at Common Law I also give and bequeath unto my said wife for and during the term of her natural life the use and enjoyment of such of my Goods and Furniture with sufficient silver spoons to be taken an inventory for a single person to be returned to my Executors and equally divided between my four Children at her decease and as for and concerning all my other Estates Goods and Chattels of what kind soever both Real and Personal I give and bequeath unto my aforesaid four Children or the Survivors of them share and share alike In Testimony whereof I the said Peter Cowdery the Testator have to this my last Will set my hand and Seal the day and year above written Peter Cowdery Signed Sealed Published and declared by the said Peter Cowdery the testator as and for his last Will and Testament in the presence of us who in his presence at his request and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto John Lywood - John Conden - David Graham Proved at London 11th Aug 1820 before the Judge by the Oath of George Cowdery & William Cowdery the Sons two of the Exors to whom admon was granted having been first sworn to wit the sd George Cowdey before the worshipful Charles Coote Dr??? of Laws & Sum? & that? of William Cowdery by Comon duly to adm Peter Cowdery & Fortune Aylward Wife of William Ayleward two other of the Children the other Exors having first renounced the exor thereof.
